Wind Gardens is a Wellington based professional horticulture landscape service specialising in design and building beautiful gardens in exposed places. New Zealand gardens are typically subjected to harsh cold or windy conditions which necessitate a unique approach which we have proven with our past projects and the popularity of two best selling published books - "Gardens In The Wind" and "Wind Gardens". Gardens are created within the constraints of nature for enjoyment and relaxation. But often the natural constraints include the effect of wind which shapes and dries out plants and restricts their growth as well as influencing other aspects of climate and micro-climate. We are able to create gardens in wind-ravaged places by using nature's model to ensure gardens that are beautiful yet require little maintenance. We conduct site planning, preparation, planting and maintenance and provide lists of suitable plants with descriptions of their habit and special requirements; for a range of different climates and environments.
